How to raise your credit score after credit cards are paid off

August 30, 2011 · Posted in Credit Repair · 4 Comments

How can I raise my credit score once both of my credit cards have been paid off? I don’t plan on using either one of them unless it’s an emergency, but I don’t know how to keep raising my score after that. Is there a way to get negative reports taken off my credit report?

What types of credit accounts are needed to get a high credit score?

    August 17, 2010 · Posted in Credit Repair · 11 Comments

I would like to improve my credit score (it’s about 615) in order to qualify for a mortgage with a low interest rate in about a year or so. I currently have an auto loan and three revolving credit accounts (all bank credit cards). Two of the credit cards are new and the other one is almost a year old. My auto loan will be a year old in a few months. Would my score go up if I apply for more credit? If so what type of credit? What is a good mixture of credit to have to get a higher credit score?

How do I improve my credit score?

    July 2, 2010 · Posted in Credit Repair · 5 Comments

Three years ago I went crazy and opened five store credit cards to save money with the initial discount on my purchases. This must have hurt my credit score because I don’t have any late payments or anything else that would have lowered it. I would like to improve my credit scores so I’m looking for answers to these questions:

    1) How long will it take before those inquiries fall off my credit report?

    2) Would closing any of these store credit cards increase my credit score?

    3) I owe over $50,000 in student loans that will hopefully be discharged soon due to my disability. Will the student loans being discharged increase my credit score?

    Thank you for your answers.

I disputed a few items on my Equifax credit report and they were taken off. These same items are on the other two reports but the only way to file a dispute with TransUnion and Experian is to write a letter to them. What information should I include in the letters? I just want to know the steps I should take to ensure an expedient outcome without having to write multiple letters to each one.

My husband and I are looking to buy a house in about 6 months so we would like to fix our credit fast . So many credit repair companies claim that they can remove bad items from your credit report. Has this worked for anyone? If so, which company and how much did your credit score increase? How long did it take? Also, how much did it cost to have this done?

I just opened four accounts at four different jewelery stores. I had to do this in order to know how much I would be approved for. Anyway, do those accounts get factored into your credit score? I haven’t bought anything with any of the accounts though.

How can I speed up the process to increase my credit score?

        May 10, 2010 · Posted in Credit Repair · 4 Comments

I am a 70 year old man and I have a chance to purchase a new 3 bedroom house for payments that would be less than my current apartment rent. When our Government bailed out the banks, I stopped paying on my credit cards thinking that I would never need a good credit rating for the rest of my life. Because of my limited income, I will never apply for another credit card. On one credit card I have a judgment against me. Two weeks ago I paid all of them off, including penalties. My credit score needs to be raised from 580 to 620 in order to get this home loan.

My question is, would it help to expedite the process if I would send to the three credit reporting agencies copies of my last credit card statements, collection agencies statements and bank statements with the details of the collection agencies withdrawal transactions?

Can I repair my own credit?

        May 8, 2010 · Posted in Credit Repair · 13 Comments

Do credit repair companies work or could I repair my own credit? If I do it myself, how could I do it successfully? I want to build or buy a house for my family. I make about 60k a year and my wife and I have seven kids so it’s very important that we get a good interest rate or we’ll never be able to afford the payments. One of our kids had to have 5 brain surgeries right after she was born and this ruined our credit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am a mortgage loan modification officer and always send customers who have credit issues to a credit company to clean off their credit. I know people can do this on their own, but many do not have the knowledge and time to do it. I have also cleaned customers credit myself including mine and my wife’s as well as friends and family members, but I have been doing it for free. How do I go about opening my own credit repair company? Where do I start?

My husband had 49 errors corrected on his Experian Credit report today. Only one is being investigated because it is a judgment. These were all errors due to 3 other people being lumped into my husband’s credit report. It was corrected easily over the phone, but I forgot to ask how long until the changes are reflected in his credit score. I know the investigation into the one judgment that needs to be removed will be 30 days, but what about the things that were removed today?
