Why does Equifax calculate their scores different than the other two credit bureaus?
Is there anything you can do about your Equifax score? Shouldn’t it be at least close to the same as Experian and TransUnion? And why do most banks use them to check your credit for auto loans? They are so aggravating. They don’t even show a lot of my credit information, like saying I have no open bank cards when I do. Is there anything I can do to correct this? I need to buy a car, but I keep getting turned down for a loan because of my Equifax score.

How is it Possible to have a Credit Score of 877?
I recently got my credit score using a 3 bureau estimate from Equifax and the result was 877. I researched credit scores online and found that 850 is supposed to be the maximum for FICO scores. If this is true, how could anyone have a credit score higher than that? I’ve had credit for over 35 years and I have never been late on any payment ever. But still, how could it be over 850? Does anyone know how this could be possible? Thanks.

Why did I get three different credit scores?
I recently got my free credit reports from the three credit reporting companies and then I paid to get my credit scores. I got a different score from each company. Equifax gave me a credit score of 569, Experian 572, and Transunion 635. Why is this and how can I find out my real credit score? What can I do to correct this?

Getting Equifax Dispute Results
I just checked the status of my Equifax credit dispute and the status says “Mailed as of the 11th”, but I never received an email notification or link to my results as others have mentioned. Are they just sending this information by mail or do I need to contact them?
Also, would it show up on the free credit report that I am now viewing if they made any changes or would I not see it until I get my next free report next year?

Which lenders only check the Equifax credit score?
My Equifax score is 704 but my Transunion score is only 620. I want to get a loan for a car and I know in order to get a good interest rate my score should be high. Are there any lenders that will only look at one credit report?

How do I speak to a REAL person at Equifax regarding a dispute?
My old bank that has been bought out by another bank had reported to Equifax that I owed them money. I disputed it with the old bank but it’s still on my report. The new bank says they cannot help me. All I get is the run-around from everyone I’ve spoken to. If anyone knows how to resolve this PLEASE answer back.

Why is my Experian score lower than the other two?
My Experian credit score is about 30 points lower than the Transunion and Equifax scores and it’s been this way for a few years. The only difference I see from glancing at the accounts is that Equifax shows more inquires in the last 2 years (5) than Transunion and Experian (they have 3 and 2). Would that knock it down by 30 points or does Equifax always score lower?
My credit scores range from 770 to 803 so I am not too worried about being denied credit, I’m just curious.

Why is Equifax not reporting my credit history?
I got my first credit card in June of 2006. My payments have never been late. Every 30 days the credit card company reports account status to all 3 major credit reporting agencies. Transunion and Experian both are showing my account correctly, but Equifax is not showing it at all! I had to pay Equifax for my credit report just to try to dispute it and now I get a bunch of crap from their customer service center. I know my credit card company is reporting my info. In fact just yesterday they did another report to Equifax and Equifax is still saying they have no record of the account. I’m really upset over this mess and I want an investigation by FTC and possibly the Attorney General for the state for the Equifax corporate office. What would you do? What is the best way to get immediate action?

How much would the removal of one collection item on my credit report raise my score?
I’ve got one collection item on my report, in the amount of 186 bucks. Up till now, I’ve simply ignored it, as I have qualms with its legitimacy. But I’m wondering now if, by paying this item, I would enjoy a substantial increase in my credit score. My Equifax score is a 661 right now. What sort of increase would I realize from the deletion of this one little item?

Why does my credit report look good on Equifax but not on Experian?
My credit reports looks good for one agency.
I have a loan in really good standing that is being reported by Equifax on my credit report but when I look at the other, it has no history of the loan. Should this loan be reported to all three of the agencies or is it up to them?

How is the "Average Account Age" in the Equifax credit report calculated?
I have a combination of Open, Closed, Revolving, consolidated and unconsolidated student loans, and a couple credit cards I have never used. I have averaged these in many different ways but have not yet arrived at the “Average Account Age” that is reported in the Equifax credit report. For those who haven’t purchased their report, an “average account age” is given, and the longer it is, the better for one’s credit score. Hopefully someone who has a simpler credit history can shed some light on how it is calculated. Thanks!

How does an equifax online dispute with a creditor work?
I’ve heard different things so make it simple for me, please. Okay, I disputed a negative item on my credit report and Equifax investigated it. If the company that filed a negative report doesn’t get back within a certain amount of time to confirm the debt, is it erased? Or after a certain amount of months, could I dispute again and see if they make the deadline? Please clarify this for me, if you can.
