Is annualcreditreport.com the only place to get a free credit reports or are there others?

I know that the federal government is after freecreditreport.com and others because people really believe its free and don’t read the fine print about the .95 fee that comes later.

But are there other places to get your report for free that does not require your credit card?

  1. It’s the only true one. It’s always free unless you fall for the "Free Credit Report" thing. There is no fee at "annualcreditreport.com". You can get a report from all three companies every six months. FREE. You will need documents in front of you of what you owe your creditors so you can answer questions online. You can correct it if it’s wrong and they will get back to you pretty quickly on that and you can also print it out. What you do have to pay for is your FICO score which is something you need if you are buying a house.

  2. A good site to use is freecreditreport.com I recently used them, you are still going to have to give your credit card, however, once you pull your report up, call immediately and cancel. You can pull it up for free, however, your credit card info is if you continue to use it after i think 30 days. Again, make sure you cancel it before the trial runs out. Also, it only gives you your report from one of the 3 reporting agencies. It gives you a good idea where you stand, however you will have to pay in order to see your information from all 3 agencies. At least this is what I have come to believe….hope this helps.

  3. I much prefer freecreditreport.com

If you don’t cancel the monitoring service within 7 days, you get charged, and that’s why they need your debit info.

I cancelled 2 days after checking my report and was not charged a dime. Here’s an article on how to cancel:

  4. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, consumers are entitled to receive one free copy of a credit report each year by visiting Annualfreecreditreport.com. It is also your right to dispute erroneous or irresponsible reporting. Hence, before applying for a loan or a credit card, the first step you should do is to check your personal credit report and make sure it’s free from errors.

I adore seeing web sites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free of charge. It?s the old what goes close to arrives close to routine. Did you acquired plenty of links and I see lots of trackbacks?
