How is it Possible to have a Credit Score of 877?

July 31, 2010 · Posted in Equifax Credit Report · 7 Comments

I recently got my credit score using a 3 bureau estimate from Equifax and the result was 877. I researched credit scores online and found that 850 is supposed to be the maximum for FICO scores. If this is true, how could anyone have a credit score higher than that? I’ve had credit for over 35 years and I have never been late on any payment ever. But still, how could it be over 850? Does anyone know how this could be possible? Thanks.

I would like to repair my credit rather quickly. Would it be possible to improve my credit scores and get everything cleaned up within six to twelve months? How likely is it to do this?
    Thanks.

What lender currently offers the 100% cash out VA Loan option – and only reviews Experian?

I currently have a VA loan, and would like to refinance and get 100% cash out. The home will be rented out, and the cash out will be used for the down payment of my new home. Only one of my credit scores is over 620 (Experian), as I have been working for the past month to get a lot of incorrect items fixed. I have even provided letters to the agencies, but nothing has updated just yet . Any help appreciated.

Every time I see anything about credit scores, they talk about equifax first, like the others don’t matter. Why is equifax more important than the others? I have a lower equifax score than the other 2 bureaus, why is that?
